Highly replayable

Every game of Machinate creates an evolving marketplace. No card has a set price. Each new game you play changes your approach. As you learn about the card effects and auctions, you change when and how much you spend.

constant Off-turn play

Each player gets a fresh infusion of credits and participates in auctions every turn, keeping everyone at the table engaged. And with utility cards that can be played on any turn, you always have an opportunity to influence the game.

push your luck

Minibot cards auctioned face down introduce an element of chance. Almost every Minibot could win you the game with an ultra-powerful ability. But be careful, one minibot has a negative effect, making each minibot auction a gamble!

5+ billion possible combinations for your robot

Powerful and unique card effects let you play different experiences every game. Each deck has a total of 100 cards, with 69 unique abilities and art across robot parts, minibots, and utilities.

nail-biting finishes

Unique utility and minibot cards allow you to stay in the game, even if you are running low on credits. This creates a natural balance where every player is competing right to the end. There's always a chance for a dramatic underdog victory.

Hey there,We’re Zach and Mahraan, the creators of Machinate. We became friends in 2016 after we started working for Microsoft and bonded over our love of games. We went from playing just about every type of board game we could find to modifying the rules of classic games to get fresh experiences. Eventually, we decided to build our own game out of our favorite mechanics and strategic elements. Machinate is the result of that effort, along with hundreds of hours of playtesting. We took inspiration from games we love. We talked about Risk, Catan, Monopoly, Magic the Gathering, Unstable Unicorns, and many others. Some elements stood out: brokering deals, betraying allies, unleashing powerful abilities, and deciding when and how to spend resources. We came up with the idea to auction off robot parts with unique powers and the rest of the game came together quickly. Our very first playtest went on for almost 5 hours. After the first play, our friends insisted we play again…and then again and again, and we know we were onto something. We wrapped up the playtest at 2 in the morning with a million more ideas and a ton of energy. It took us another year to figure out all the cards, abilities, and intricate details to make every round of Machinate feel fresh, fair, and exciting. Then COVID hit, and put a pause in our manufacturing for another three years, when we were finally ready to sell our first copy.Machinate is something special and we had an incredible time designing it. We hope you have as much fun playing it.Happy blasting,
Mahraan Qadir & Zach Johnson
